The Klep-Vance Family

Christy is a beautiful momma friend of mine and I’m so happy to have known her for over 10 years! She is a delightful and hilarious momma who made two beautiful girls with bright spirts and wild imaginations. This boss-babe also owns the Original Photo Booth Company which is a rad photo booth team of cool booths and people and photos. These lifestyle and studio photos for mothers day of this year, though admittedly the shoot happened after moms day because… life! We first met up at my studio and then walked around the Mississippi arts area, including Ruby Jewel ice cream for the little ladies, which always makes for good pics (& bribes!) So fun spending a sunny afternoon documenting a fun family of incredible women. Celebrate family with a studio/street session! Check out more of my portland family photography work here or contact me at my quick contact form to book your session for fall 2018!

Jenna and Gregory
An Elegant Portland Golf Club Wedding

WOW! Jenna and Gregory’s wedding will definitely go down in history! Jenna and Greg wed at the gorgeous St. Mary’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the historic Portland Golf Club. This sentimental, kind and fun-loving couple and I first met at their engagement session and I knew then their wedding would be incredible because of their magnetic and warm personalities! You can actually feel the love between these two with the way they look at each other, smile and touch each other and they way they light up the room together!  The details were timeless elegance, with stunning florals and greenery from the talented Jordan with Blum Flowers. Nora Sheils, with Bridal Bliss provided incredible coordination and made sure everything ran perfectly and of course it did!! Anna’s bridal is where Jenna found her breathtaking dress by Hayley Paige and her shoes were from Badgely Mischka. Marc and his amazing team at Moving Pictures did the cinematography. Guests were treated with an aperitif and digestif cart along with knowledge and tastings from Multnomah Whisky Library. Family and friends danced the night away with amazing live music from the Essentials while the back patio served cuban cigars for all to try! The gorgeous five tier cake was covered in hand-made sugar flowers from Dream Cakes and topped with the bride’s grandparents cake topper, which was also used at her parent’s wedding as well. This was one of those weddings that reminds me why I love what I do so very much and this is what the wonderful mother of the bride, Kristine said about her photographic experience with me: “You have a gift that is a blessing. You, personally, made the wedding perfect for us by capturing the best day of our lives. The reason the images you capture are so moving is because the couples and the people you photograph trust and adore you. Having you behind the lens is what makes the magic happen. With much gratitude, respect and love, now and for the next 5 weddings we are looking forward to sharing with you.” This really made me cry happy tears! Beyond honored to and THANK YOU for choosing me to capture the love, energy and joy of Jenna and Greg’s wedding and I know you will cherish the memories for lifetimes!

Jessica and Bradley
An Evergreen Portland Wedding

Jessica and Bradley wed on a gorgeous day in spring of this year.  This intelligent and stylish couple had a wedding night to remember and I absolutely loved the color palette and decor they chose which incorporates golds, pinks, Himalayan sea salt, succulents and candlelight at the stunning Evergreen Event Space in Portland! The wonderful Katie Wilgus with Gather Events coordinated the day while Briar and Ivy created the stunning florals. The bridesmaids all held wreaths, which was a unique and elegant detail. Jessica had pretty and natural makeup and hair by Cassandra Kennedy Beauty and her incredible dress was from Daughters of Simone. The guests dined on delicious food from the award-winning team at White Pepper catering. Jessica and Bradley opted for the talented Essentials band over a dj, which makes for a classy and fun evening of dancing and party! The traditional jewish hora dance done to live music was especially memorable and hilariously fun to document! A fun and classy wedding with low-key vibes – yes please! Thanks Jessica and Bradley for choosing me to document your day!

Lindsay and Aaron
A Summer Festival Wedding!

WOW! Lindsay and Aaron didn’t really have a wedding as much as a summer festival of love! I’ve known the beautiful Lindsay since 2011 when she emailed me about a potential photography gig. As soon as I met her, she stated that our last names at the time; Hill and Hile, were only one letter off from one another and that’s why I should hire her!!! SO what did I do?… I hired her!!! BEST DECISION EVER as she has been a wonderful assistant photographer, studio manager, and now a primary at A Lovely Day Photography and a dear friend who has helped me through thick and thin. Her grace and humor always make me smile and she slays at her own awesome biz Lindsay Baca Photography! Needless to say her long-awaited wedding to Aaron (they started dating when she was 15!) was an amazing festival of fun, color, whimsy and pure joy and I’m SO honored that I was there to document it at Horning’s Hideout! Linds and Aaron really complete each other and their magical wedding was a reflection of their magical love. Linds and Aaron’s ceremony was one of the funniest I’ve ever witnessed and since Aaron is a talented musician, he surprised Lindsay with a super sweet song he wrote… Swoon!!  They had several conceptual and cosmic art installations throughout including the Portal of Chromatic Bliss, of which it totally was! Rojo and Smokey the Llamas arrived during the cocktail hour as well, which made for great pics and therapeutic laughs! DJ Dan MoFunk made the dance party happen, while guests dined on yummy Tight Taco and margaritas while hula-hooping and bubble blowing. Lindsay and Aaron just celebrated their one year anniversary and recently welcomed a healthy baby boy! SO happy for them and their extraordinary love!

Lisa and Aki are a kind, cute and giggly couple and we met up back in the late winter around some iconic Portland spots, including Tanner Springs Park in the Pearl District, Trailhead Coffee and the new and iconic Dumbbell building for their colorful and playful engagement session. I first met Lisa and Aki back in 2014 while Lisa was a bridesmaid at her sister Leslie’s awesome wedding! I’m so honored to be photographing their wedding this weekend and to celebrate with these two and their awesome families!

Krystal and Dillon
A Grey Gables Estate Wedding

Imagine yourself at an elegant garden party on a warm July evening. There is a slight breeze, great music from Event Team is playing softly, and the smell of sweet roses and bouquets from Forte Floral is in the air. In walks Dillon and Krystal, the happiest newlyweds with bright smiles and timeless garb! A classic tux for Dillon and a white chantilly lace dress with a long train for Krystal along with perfect makeup and hair from Kirstie Wight! Succulents & cactus decorated the tables as well as the pretty cake from Dream Cakes as a nod to the couple’s Arizona home. Cute kids played in the twinkling lights of the garden at the gorgeous Grey Gables Estate and there was so much love, joy, laughter and music in the air! Truly an unforgettable wedding to remember. Thank you so much Krystal and Dillon for choosing me to document your big day!

Alison and Nate
Portland Street Art Engagement

Nate and Alison and I met up back in the fall and had an engagement photography adventure of North Portland from the St. John’s Bridge to the incredible murals of Alberta Street to a random office lobby to final drinks and fire cuddles at Radio Room, one of the couple’s favorite date spots on Alberta. Nate and Alison brought the fun and color to this shoot and saved our rainy day with their bright love! Loved their fun animal hoodies, which represented their spirit animals, Nate’s is a grey wolf and Alison’s a tie-dye bear respectively. Hahah!!!  Love this kind couple and their free-spirited and joyful love. SO looking forward to photographing their July wedding!
