Kristina and Scott
Oregon Coast Photography

Kristina and Scott along with Kristina’s son Aiden, all met up on an overcast yet calm Sunday morning on the coast, where the family was enjoying a long weekend getaway. This kind couple loves nature, hiking and being outdoors with family. So much so, that they are getting married this month on top of Mt. Hood at Silcox Hut! We explored old growth forests in Ecola State Park and danced on the beach. Kristina braved the chill in a long pretty dress and Aiden did rad ninja kicks for the camera. Thank you Scott and Kristina for choosing me to document these important moments with your family from ocean coast to mountain top!

Raishelle and Riley
A Fred Meyers Engagement Photo Shoot!

Raishelle and Riley met while they both worked together at Fred Meyer! (Or as most of us like to call it: Freddies!!) They were both in the electronics department and started having great conversations and realizing there was something magic there! When Raishelle and Riley and I talked about the possibility of shooting their engagements there, I was SO excited! Of course there are some challenges with a shopping store but I embraced them and love the results. We got permission of course and incorporated some of the awesome iconic Freddie’s magic into the session including that classic red sign, the crafts section, the outdoor garden center, and the electronics department! We finished the session with some beautiful images at Memorial Park in Wilsonville. Raishelle and Riley are kind, intelligent and a fun loving couple and I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding this summer in wine country!

It’s now a long standing tradition here at Jessica Hill Photography to share my absolute favorite photos of the year. To make sure I don’t choose 7392, I limit it to the year, so 12 for 2012, 16 for 2016 and so on! Needless to say, one of the best things each year is getting to choose another image!  Here are my top wedding and engagement images from 2017. WOW… It was so hard choosing from the thousands of unique, bold and magical moments from your engagement and wedding stories. I was so happy to have such kind-hearted and unique couples who have invited me to capture the start of their life adventure together. From Sunriver sunsets, to elegant urban venue’s in the Portland we call home, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.  Thank YOU all! Now booking select 2018 and 2019 dates and I’d love to learn more about your unique and personal day!

Your Wedding Album with Jessica Hill Photography

Your wedding album is truly the first family photo album you will have as a couple and will be a cherished family heirloom for generations to come. I love creating albums with each couple I document as this is truly the lasting memory of the entire event when all is done. Your wedding dress is stored away, the flowers dried and gone and cake enjoyed by all, the memories all come back while revisiting your album. I suggest couples keep their album on a beautiful table and turn it each day they walk by as a piece of moving art in your home. Pictured here are the eight by eight inch parent album and the eleven by fourteen inch heirloom album in Dolche de Leche, a favorite rich camel colored leather which ages well. I’ve tried so many album companies over the years and have found that Finao creates the best in the country. Their handmade process is incredible as they use all archival and high-quality papers and leathers, with beautiful vegan options as well. I love the full panoramic spreads that flow across two spreads, which allows for really fun design elements and single powerful images to really have their space in the album by coveting two full pages. Your wedding album is truly an investment in your future family and a way to truly remember all those favorite moments. Don’t lose your wedding images to lost hard drives or endless scrolls, choose the power of print and choose to invest in your future with a stunning wedding album. We custom design each album with your input along the way to make sure it’s perfect. Truly a remarkable gift and way to remember your cherished wedding day.

Jenna and Greg
A Sauvie Island Engagement Session

It was a gorgeous summer’s day as I drove to Jenna and Greg’s family home on Sauvie Island in undeniably great light that only Sauvie Island gets. Jenna and Greg are just as kind and beautiful in person as they look and I literally had moments of the movie, The Notebook in my head as I was photographing this wonderful couple. Jenna and Greg met on the first day of medical school orientation and knew they had met someone special. They truly are soulmates and you can see it in the way they look at each other, interact and laugh. What Jenna says about Greg: “What made me fall in love with Greg first was his true happiness. It is the type of happiness that makes it worth getting up in the morning, no matter how hard the day looks. It is the type of happiness that warms you like a blanket on a cold day.”  And Greg of Jenna: “I knew early on that Jenna was everything I could have ever hoped for in this world, the one girl I have been looking for all my life. And even after all this time and all the adventures we faced, I have only come to love Jenna more and more each day, growing not just as an individual, but as a couple of goobers who love each other more than we do ourselves.” WOW! What beautiful words and what a beautiful love! Beyond honored to be photographing their Portland wedding this summer!

Kellen and Ty
A Sunriver Oregon Winter Wedding

Kellen and Ty! Gah!!! Words can’t describe the beauty!!! Sunriver is a truly magical place that has a dear spot in my heart. The light shines brighter in Sunriver and it definitely shines brighter with Kellen and Ty tying the knot! (ha- see what I did there!)  Their wedding day was one of the best this winter with warm and clear blue skies and sparkling light over a fine dust of fresh snow. With the organic florals from Woodland Floral, Kellen’s dress from BHLDN and Ty’s custom suit from Collier, this couple has oh-so much grace and style. The sweet Mallory with Mint Events coordinated the day while Pressure Point played great music all night long that made for epic dance photos!  I loved the personal touches they included like Kellen’s grandmother’s fur and Ty’s initialed tie clips. A special thanks to Kate Kelly for second shooting with me and Kellen and Ty- thank you! Your love, energy and soul were truly inspiring to document!

Kellen and Ty
A Deschutes Brewery Wedding Rehearsal

Kellen and Ty are the kind of people you meet and you feel like you’ve known for lifetimes. Their grace, style and heart are apparent right away and you immediately feel comfortable in their presence. They hosted their stunning winter wedding this past December in beautiful Bend and Sunriver Oregon. Central Oregon delivered for this sweet couple with crisp and clear bluebird days and cozy, snuggly nights. Right before the holidays, their weekend celebration included skiing Mt. Bachelor, hanging in hot tubs in Sunriver, and a downtown Bend rehearsal dinner at the legendary Deschutes Brewery. The night included a slideshow with lots of childhood and engagement photos and sweet toasts and laughs. We snuck out to the balcony and photographed some moody and romantic night photos, which I love and then all headed back to Sunriver to prep for their gorgeous wedding the following day. Stay tuned!!!

Sarah and Jason
Maysara Winery Wedding

I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah quite a few years ago at Callie and Andy’s 2012 wedding, as she was a bridesmaid. I instantly smiled when I met Sarah as she’s super funny, kind and gorgeous. I remember seeing Jason and Sarah swirl and spin together that night on the dance floor while laughing all the way and that still sums their love. They laugh together. A lot. Their wedding was all of that laughter and love all rolled into one insanely gorgeous and fun summer wedding at Maysara Vineyards. The flowers… just wow! Kim with Swoon Floral Design made the winery into a magical garden with pink and magenta blooms everywhere. The chuppah was magnificent and so was the cobblestone stairwell lined with greens. Megan with Bridal Bliss coordinated perfectly while White Pepper catering made a menu to remember! Dream Cakes and Chad Dowling DJ helped to complete the evening with wonderful cake and music; still smiling while remembering dancing with my camera to Despacito;) It was a night to remember in a stunning location with a gorgeous couple. Thank you SO much for choosing me to document your dream wedding!

Mandy and Avery
A SE Portland Evergreen Wedding

Mandy and Avery’s wedding at the Evergreen in Portland was beyond words marvelous! They jumped into the Willamette river during their engagement photos, so I had no doubts that their wedding would be equally as adventurous and amazing! Oh- and it was!!!!! The background for getting ready is at the swoon-worthy Hotel Eastlund where we also did their first look and some fun wedding party photos with pretty hair and makeup by Bri Ellis. I love large wedding parties that are up for a “Vanity Fair” style photo- Such a stylish and fun way to capture everyone- especially with the bride’s stunn-ing Monique Lhuillier and the ladies in their floor length rose gold gowns and the groom and his guys looking good in custom light grey suits! SO stylish! The ceremony was emotional and sweet and took place beneath a handmade copper arch. During dinner Mandy’s mom surprised the entire audience with a bagpiper in honor of their Scottish grandmother who recently passed. It was such a kind and unique gift! With the legendary Reggie Houston band starting the evening, a Pip’s donut truck right outside for late night snacks and great lighting by Greenlight Creative, this was truly a party to remember! I was lucky to work with lots of crazy talented vendors, including on point coordinating by Leann with Ginger and You Events, and catering by White Pepper. Not only delicious, but also oh so beautiful! And the flowers… WOW the event space was literally dripping in flowers and ivy, and I loved the organic and natural quality that Jodi at Stemm floral created! Please see all the beauty for yourself and thank you so much Avery and Mandy for trusting me to capture your incredible and crazy love story in all of it’s amazing glory!!! xo
