Mia and Chris and I met at a wine-tasting event WAY back in the day right around the time when Chris proposed! We photographed their apple-orchard inspired engagement session back in 2012 and had a blast together. Since then so much has happened, marriage, houses, careers (Mia is the manager at the Pearl Anthropologie!) and Mia and Chris welcomed their sweet baby girl Ceci into this wonderful world! Was so honored to photograph their sweet family along with their pups at their stylish home in NE Portland. I especially loved the Jonathan Adler couch! (Yes please) and Ceci’s hip and bright nursery. Their older pup passed very soon after these photos were taken so I’m very humbled to have photographed that sweet pup. So much love for this kind, stylish and creative family!
Elegant, Timeless, Classic and Fun!!! Loved getting to know this couple and the fun adventure we had during their fun engagement session. The lovely Elizabeth with Bridal Bliss coordinated and Blum Florals created the AMAZING florals with gorgeous and unique details (loved the blueberry gold dish centerpieces and the hand-painted masterpiece cake by Dreamcakes) and a fun party. The sweet ceremony took place at the historic First Presbyterian Church in downtown Portland where you could actually feel the love within the rafters! The classic and beyond stunning Governor Ballroom at the Sentinel Hotel was breathtaking. As Michael twirled Ande into the night, the incredible band Precious Byrd played on and kept the party going. As you can tell this was an evening to remember and we made some magic art. Loved this day and thank you Ande and Michael for trusting me with documenting your true love story! What a night!
McKenzie and Rahul threw an absolutely incredible wedding for their family and friends! I loved working with this kind and wonderful couple for their 2017 summer wedding at the Armory Gerding Theatre. The style, the food, the music, the dancing, oh so much fun! Will with Don’t Mess with the Bride did the coordination and Marianne with Petal Passion made the gorgeous bouquets. The food from Swagat was all delicious and incorporated Rahul’s Indian Heritage. Loved Rahul’s classic blue tux with the black lapels and McKenzie’s hair and makeup from Marissa Freeman was spot on perfect. The vows were extremely touching and I personally loved that they literally danced down the aisle together! Congrats McKenzie and Rahul and I’m so happy that you found each other!
I met Paige and Tom last winter around a campfire in Sunriver, Oregon at Kellen and Ty’s gorgeous wedding and instantly knew they were lots of fun! Paige and Tom are a witty and stylish couple who met overseas and continued a relationship over years, oceans and many phone calls and decided on a simple yet elegant wedding this past spring at the stunning Exchange Ballroom. The couple had a intimate and private ceremony with only a few friends earlier that day at the courthouse. I love that they decided on a non-traditional approach to their wedding and hosted their family and friends for a wonderful dinner party and rooftop fun to celebrate their marriage! Their raw bar was one of the best I’ve seen (yes please!) and Vibrant Table really delivers on the delicious and beautiful food! Sammy’s Floral created the pretty flowers and Paige’s sweet slip dress was from Nordstrom. They included a ton of fun games including vintage arcade, darts and pool for guests to enjoy as well as a gorgeous sitting area for mingling. Needless to say, this couple brought lots of thought and love to their fun and beautiful wedding reception to the Eastside Exchange and I had a blast photographing it!
Christy is a beautiful momma friend of mine and I’m so happy to have known her for over 10 years! She is a delightful and hilarious momma who made two beautiful girls with bright spirts and wild imaginations. This boss-babe also owns the Original Photo Booth Company which is a rad photo booth team of cool booths and people and photos. These lifestyle and studio photos for mothers day of this year, though admittedly the shoot happened after moms day because… life! We first met up at my studio and then walked around the Mississippi arts area, including Ruby Jewel ice cream for the little ladies, which always makes for good pics (& bribes!) So fun spending a sunny afternoon documenting a fun family of incredible women. Celebrate family with a studio/street session! Jessica and Bradley wed on a gorgeous day in spring of this year. This intelligent and stylish couple had a wedding night to remember and I absolutely loved the color palette and decor they chose which incorporates golds, pinks, Himalayan sea salt, succulents and candlelight at the stunning Evergreen Event Space in Portland! The wonderful Katie Wilgus with Gather Events coordinated the day while Briar and Ivy created the stunning florals. The bridesmaids all held wreaths, which was a unique and elegant detail. Jessica had pretty and natural makeup and hair by Cassandra Kennedy Beauty and her incredible dress was from Daughters of Simone. The guests dined on delicious food from the award-winning team at White Pepper catering. Jessica and Bradley opted for the talented Essentials band over a dj, which makes for a classy and fun evening of dancing and party! The traditional jewish hora dance done to live music was especially memorable and hilariously fun to document! A fun and classy wedding with low-key vibes – yes please! Thanks Jessica and Bradley for choosing me to document your day!
Hearing my name being called at Oregon Bride Magazine’s big award night at the Porter Hotel this past June was honestly a shock. I knew I was nominated and that was quite an honor in and of itself, but to win… WOW! I almost fainted for a sec (for real you can watch the footage on my Instagram best of story!) Thanks to ALL of you amazing clients, vendors, family and friends who have supported me over the years! I’m constantly pushing myself to do more with my art and business and it feels nice to have all the hard work and dedication be awarded. Congrats to my awesome team of bossbabes over at A Lovely Day Photography for the top three nomination as well!!! Wahoooo!!!
Is there anything prettier than a spring wedding? I love classic country club weddings for that elegant town and country vibe that can only be achieved at the best venues. Columbia Edgewater Country Club is gem of a location tucked away in the industrial Columbia River area, this country club is surrounded by English gardens, sweeping views and great patios. Julie and Dylan actually wed in Hawaii in a personal and intimate elopement and later celebrated with their extended family and friends here in Portland, complete with another ceremony to include Dylan’s darling daughter, Charlie. Julie’s stunning dress was designed by Lian Carlo, with elegant hair and makeup by Kirstie Wight Makeup and the timeless bouquets from Jordan at Blum Design in Flowers. The party was fun with all ages on the dance floor and mad beats from DJ Royal. Thanks so much Julie and Dylan for choosing me to document your gorgeous Portland wedding celebration!
Michelle, Alex, Leo and Ray are the cutest and kindest. I met Michelle a loooonnnnngggg time ago when she was at Oblation and of course… wedding industry so we met at a bridal show! After finding out that our home roots are also in Michigan and specifically, Ann Arbor we became friends and I actually photographed Michelle and Alex’s two year wedding anniversary photos long before the kiddos came along! Michelle now co-owns a great book binding company called Hitched Strung Stitched in town. After not seeing her in many moons, we ended up in a magical pre-natal yoga class together at Yoga Pearl! I was so happy and honored to be invited to their new home to photograph their sweet family. Leo is a cutie and such a good big brother to baby Ray! Alex and Michelle are great parents and even grandma and grandpa were able to jump in for a few photos! I love photographing families at home, in the familiar, the cozy and comfortable and gettin real moments rather than staged all too perfect traditional family portraits. The messy hair, the barefeet and the wildness of the days that make up the years that make up this beautiful life. Thank you Johnson family and much love!
