Having the opportunity to travel to neighboring PNW cities to meet my lovely couples is an honor that I deeply cherish. I met adorable and fun couple, Christy and Addison, in Washington for their Seattle engagement! I loved the variety of Seattle we explored beginning with Volunteer Park Conservatory. The 15,000 square foot glass structure is a product of years of thought, design, and vision beginning as early as 1878 until its completion in 1912. The conservatory, originally modeled after London’s Crystal Palace, added its famous greenhouses by 1922. We continued our time together at various locations within Pike Place Market where the couple’s laid-back and sophisticated style shined. The quaint coffee shop, Storyville was a location for a many a date and the famous Gum Wall with over 20 years of gum stuck to it were just a few cool local spots we visited. We also discovered a nearby rooftop to capture some fab skyline photos that included the iconic Seattle Space Needle. SO happy for this smart and sweet couple who are getting married this August!

Sarah and Jason
A Pacific Northwest Engagement
I’ve been playing catch up with the blog as of late and this is one of the shoots I’ve been dying to get up. Sarah and Jason and I all met at Callie and Andy’s glorious wedding back in 2012. All at once, charming, striking and thoughtful, Sarah and Jason are a couple you remember. So naturally I was honored to hear from them as they are planning their 2017 wedding in Oregon’s wine country. We had fun galavanting around NW, including Forest Park and NW 23rd with a coffee stop at Barista. We all skipped through the forest with moss at our heels. (literally!) We met up early to get some nice light and I love the magic we made. Hope you do too. Can’t wait for Sarah and Jason’s wedding next July. xo
Ellie and Matthieu
Paris to Portland with Love
I first met Ellie and Matthieu back in 2012 at an incredible wedding and we just clicked. They are kind, beautiful, creative and intelligent and I remember thinking what a great couple they made. Ellie and Matthieu first met during Ellie’s time abroad in Paris. They met at a cafe and Ellie asked Matthieu to “break” ten euros but in not-so fluent english so it actually meant to tear in half (cute right!) and from that moment on they started falling in love. Over five years, many travels and now speaking perfect French, Ellie and Matthieu are getting married this upcoming September. Because they are still traveling from Portland to Paris, they looked though these engagement images together via Skype and this is what Ellie shared with me about that moment. “He was smiling the entire time. Ear to ear. He told me they are way better than he was expecting. Thank you so much Jessica. You truly made our hearts feel warm, looking at them together. Just no words. They showed who we are and I love that. Thank you thank you.”
Receiving emails like this truly confirm my life’s work and love. Thank YOU both Ellie and Matthieu and I’m beyond excited to be documenting your first steps together as husband and wife this year and to share this with your amazing family and friends.
