A Summer Festival Wedding!

WOW! Lindsay and Aaron didn’t really have a wedding as much as a summer festival of love! I’ve known the beautiful Lindsay since 2011 when she emailed me about a potential photography gig. As soon as I met her, she stated that our last names at the time; Hill and Hile, were only one letter off from one another and that’s why I should hire her!!! SO what did I do?… I hired her!!! BEST DECISION EVER as she has been a wonderful assistant photographer, studio manager, and now a primary at A Lovely Day Photography and a dear friend who has helped me through thick and thin. Her grace and humor always make me smile and she slays at her own awesome biz Lindsay Baca Photography! Needless to say her long-awaited wedding to Aaron (they started dating when she was 15!) was an amazing festival of fun, color, whimsy and pure joy and I’m SO honored that I was there to document it at Horning’s Hideout! Linds and Aaron really complete each other and their magical wedding was a reflection of their magical love. Linds and Aaron’s ceremony was one of the funniest I’ve ever witnessed and since Aaron is a talented musician, he surprised Lindsay with a super sweet song he wrote… Swoon!! They had several conceptual and cosmic art installations throughout including the Portal of Chromatic Bliss, of which it totally was! Rojo and Smokey the Llamas arrived during the cocktail hour as well, which made for great pics and therapeutic laughs! DJ Dan MoFunk made the dance party happen, while guests dined on yummy Tight Taco and margaritas while hula-hooping and bubble blowing. Lindsay and Aaron just celebrated their one year anniversary and recently welcomed a healthy baby boy! SO happy for them and their extraordinary love!

I recently had the honor of photographing a woodsy and magical picnic wedding celebration at Oxbow Park. April and Sam actually had a wedding in both of their birthplaces: Portland and India and wanted to celebrate with close family and friends with a fun picnic, croquet, yummy potluck and lots of darling photos. I love April’s dress, made by her very talented friend Rebekah Fink, and the locally picked wild flower bouquets. Hope you love the sneak peek A&S!

Rachel and John
A Governor Hotel Wedding

Magically elegant are the words that come to mind when I think back at Rachel and John’s incredible wedding at the Governor Hotel in late March. The day, the dress, the flowers, the food, the music… It was all perfectly planned and unforgettable! Mike Piper, with An Affair to Remember was the genius behind the day and the gorgeous flowers and decor. Dark Garden created the custom dress for Rachel and it was beyond amazing. I think of it as a modern day Cinderella gown, but better! A stunning bride and groom;) Eric Wight with All Wight Music was the MC and DJ and kept the dancing going all night long. I felt honored to document this fairy tale day and the awesome and fun frog cake, made my Rachel’s aunt! (complete with lights and spinning action!)
