Riverplace-Wedding-27.jpg Danielle and Sean are fun loving and awesome couple that tied the knot on May 29th at The Riverplace Hotel on Portland's stunning waterfront.

Riverplace-Wedding-1.jpg I fell in love with Danielle's "something blue" these jaw-dropping Gucci diamond and topaz earrings. *gasp and smile*

Riverplace-Wedding-4.jpg Danielle looked incredible in her Nicole Miller gown.

Riverplace-Wedding-3.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-2.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-25.jpg Getting ready for the first glance, so sweet.

Riverplace-Wedding-14.jpg Lacy with Form and Flora created the stunning bouquets and centerpieces. I love how each bouquet is different!

Riverplace-Wedding-16.jpg The guys looked goooood!

Riverplace-Wedding-13.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-12.jpg We lucked out because D&S wedding took place during Rose Festival and these incredible flags were right next to the hotel entrance! Love this pic that Liam captured.

Riverplace-Wedding-15.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-11.jpg Danielle and her Dad walking down the aisle. Love this moment and a special thanks to Dad's everywhere :) Loved the view from the courtyard, where the ceremony was held.

Riverplace-Wedding-18.jpg
Riverplace-Wedding-19.jpg What up newly weds!?

Riverplace-Wedding-30.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-22.jpg This candid pic really shows how sweet and adorable D&S are together. They are kind-hearted and fun to be around!

Riverplace-Wedding-29.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-6.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-10.jpg Really touching, yet funny toasts from the BM and MoH.

Riverplace-Wedding-23.jpg oh yeah cake! The beautiful and yummy cake by Helen Bernhards Bakery.

Riverplace-Wedding-20.jpg Riverplace-Wedding-9.jpg Love love love this one.

Riverplace-Wedding-28.jpg I'm not sure if it was playing, but when I look at these I seem to remember "To the Window- To the Wall..." and then I want to dance.

Riverplace-Wedding-26.jpg

Danielle and Sean are a down to earth and relaxed couple who are fun, witty and charming. Although it was pretty gray and rainy during the morning, they were really calm and just sort of knew that their courtyard ceremony would take place, no sweat. And did it ever! The sky was blue, the clouds were perfect and the colors of Portland's waterfront and their nautical inspired palette shined on! The blues and whites looked great with the wonderful orange bouquets. The Riverplace Hotel was an incredible venue to host an even more incredible wedding. Thank you so much D&S.. You guys rock and I hope you heart the sneak peek!

portland_wedding_photographers3.jpg Jenni teaches at Barre 3 in the Pearl and we were able to photograph inside during the rain for some awesome pics! How bad ass is this pic!?

portland_wedding_photographers2.jpg portland_wedding_photographers6.jpg Love all these pics that truly embody J&K's personalities! check out Barr 3 for an awesome workout that combines ballet barre, yoga and pilates!

portland_wedding_photographers5.jpg portland_wedding_photographers8.jpg What a hot couple!

portland_wedding_photographers7.jpg portland_wedding_photographers4.jpg Another fave. Check her eyelashes! Wow!

portland_wedding_photographers11.jpg Their Pearl apt. is ultra hip and has great light and color!

portland_wedding_photographers10.jpg

Jenni and Kyley and I all met up recently for a quintessential Portland photo shoot, with a little bit of sun and a lot of rain. Luckily, J&K live in the Pearl and we had a few awesome opportunities to duck for cover and create personal pics of the couple in their hip apartment, and in the courtyard of the impressive building. They are also in the process of selling their space, so these pics will be really meaningful after they've moved and can reminisce about their first space together as a couple. I'm really looking forward to their Aug. 28th wedding and hope they love the sneak peek!

vintage-portland-wedding4.jpg Kim and Peter had an incredible vintage-inspired wedding with their closest family and friends at their NE home.

vintage-portland-wedding1.jpg vintage-portland-wedding.jpg K&P were inspired by vintage photos of their family and we tried to replicate the poses and coloring of these cherished photos that adorn their walls.

vintage-portland-wedding6.jpg vintage-portland-wedding5.jpg Kim looked incredible in her hand dyed dress, mary janes and feathers in her hair.

vintage-portland-wedding10.jpg The ceremony was short and sweet and took place in their dining room with about 6 attendees. Very intimate and cozy.

vintage-portland-wedding11.jpg vintage-portland-wedding7.jpg The invites and cake topper all came from their illustrator friend who used the couple and Edward Gorey as inspiration.

vintage-portland-wedding16.jpg vintage-portland-wedding8.jpg vintage-portland-wedding2.jpg vintage-portland-wedding3.jpg The delicious food and bar was catered by the lovely folks at Holocene.

vintage-portland-wedding15.jpg
vintage-portland-wedding13.jpg Duchess created and tailored the suit for Peter and they are awesome.

vintage-portland-wedding12.jpg vintage-portland-wedding14.jpg vintage-portland-wedding19.jpg vintage-portland-wedding18.jpg This wedding was so beyond average. It was laid back, artistic, intimate and tons of fun.

vintage-portland-wedding17.jpg vintage-portland-wedding21.jpg vintage-portland-wedding9.jpg vintage-portland-wedding20.jpg

Kim and Peter created an incredible afternoon and evening of festivities surrounding their marriage on May 8th. With a small ceremony in their dining room, a cocktail and appetizer reception in their turn of the century home, this wedding was very one of a kind. Inspired by vintage images of their families ancestry and the illustrations of Edward Gorey, they created a unique atmosphere for their family and friends. I loved everything about this wedding and hope K&P love their sneak peek. Thank you so much for sharing your day and your story.

Pearl-District-Photographer4.jpg Pearl-District-Photographer3.jpg How fun and awesome is this pic...partly because of the No Parking detail, mostly because of Kaley's awesome hair!

Pearl-District-Photographer1.jpg We found this great truck in a nearby parking lot, but much to our surprise their was a killer dog in the front seat. (well, maybe not killer, but really scary!)

Pearl-District-Photographer6.jpg Pearl-District-Photographer.jpg I'm in love with the motion involved with this series.

what a beautiful composition. i love the fact that the more traditional view of the couple embracing is referenced and framed in the mirror, but the rest of the image has this entirely different environmental element, with the eyes being drawn across the scene to land on the soft focused hands. nicely done!

They met while parking their cars at the same time beneath the Hawthorne bridge, this is the exact location.

Oregon_Engagement_Photos12.jpg Oregon_Engagement_Photos9.jpg Kami and Brett are such an awesome couple who are getting married in May of this year. For their engagement session we had quite the adventure! We started at an architectural salvage shop because K&B just bought their first home together and love to work on home projects together. Then we went to the waterfront beneath the Hawthorne bridge to document where they first met. I was completely inspired by their story and their positive energy and I can't wait to be a part of their wedding soon!

Engagement_Portland4.jpg Meet Amy and Kevin. They are really kind, like to laugh and love each other.

Engagement_Portland7.jpg nature vs. urban. I love both!

Engagement_Portland8.jpg Engagement_Portland.jpg Engagement_Portland5.jpg This lady wanted a pic and some change. ahh Old Town.

Engagement_Portland6.jpg Engagement_Portland2.jpg Amy's eye's are an incredible blue!

Engagement_Portland3.jpg

When I asked Kevin and Amy about their engagement they both laughed a little and looked at each other. I was wondering what really happened!? As it turns out, Kevin was working in London at the time and Amy came to visit him. They went for a walk (in the rain) and Amy wanted to head back to the flat. Little did Amy know that Kevin was on a mission to propose to his high school sweet heart and carried on with the walk. When the moment happened and Kevin pulled out a stunning solitaire and the question: "Will you marry me?" happened, Amy, out of shock and joy and surprise blurted out "Are you Kidding!" Of course that was a Yes and I can't wait to document their Eugene Oregon Vineyard Wedding in July. Thanks so much Amy and Kevin for making it to Portland from your lovely home in Cali and for dealing with the crazy lady, the rain, and the cold. Hope you love the photos and hop up and down with excitement. jh

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas19.jpgMeet Brad and Courtney, an incredibly kind-hearted, fun and exuberant couple.

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas1.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas4.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas2.jpgThe rehearsal dinner was held at the beautiful Sky Beach Club. The night was filled with hip-shaking island music, a fish fry and good laughs and a hilarious toast given by Brad's Dad.

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas3.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas5.jpg This welcome bag was given to all the guests which had lots of thoughtful treats, a bottle of wine, a map of Eleuthera Island and the keepsake canvas beach bag, which replicated the artistic invite. This is just one example of how friendly and sweet B&C are.

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas6.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas10.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas9.jpg Fun shots of the guys. Brad's coat created by Portland's own Este's Men's Store.

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas8.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas12.jpg Courtney was a breathtaking bride, wearing a custom dress by Phillips Bridal, located in Portland.

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas13.jpg
Destination_Wedding_Bahamas14.jpg The exquisite sunset ceremony was held on the Caribbean Sea. All the guests and couple were barefoot with their feet in the soft sand.

Destination_Wedding_Bahamas17.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas15.jpg Destination_Wedding_Bahamas11.jpg The centerpieces were created using vintage tea canisters, which Courtney had been collecting for the occasion. The flowers included a colorful array of roses, zinnias, mums and tropical greens.

As I start to reminisce about the beauty and power of Courtney and Brad's Bahamian wedding I get goosebumps, as the memories of the sea, the vivid colors and the warm-hearted nature of everyone involved starts flooding back. This makes me so happy. Brad's genuine and caring nature and Courtney's fun-loving and compassionate personality welcomed us and showed us why their family and friends traveled to be near them on this day. Travis and I thank you for having us there on your remarkable day.

Jessica and Travis,

Thank you guys once again for making the trip and dazzling us with your amazing talents. After seeing a few incredible photos the day after the wedding, the anticipation for more has been killing us. These are just wonderful and thank you for the kind words. I can't tell you how nice it was down there to not have to worry about whether we were going to have amazing pictures of the special day. I'm not sure how we're going decide which ones to frame! Anything I can do for you, please let me know!

Ummmmmmm..... WOW.... Seeing these photos is like getting pinched... I thought it was just a really vivid dream.

Thank you for bringing your fabulous gift and tremendous spirit to our wedding in the Bahamas! I would've guessed that it would be an impossible task to capture the love that was in the room that night.. You captured what we were all feeling but never could've articulated. Thank you is an understatement. (tears)

We will always be your biggest fans...

Love,
Brad and Courtney

Nice photos. Great song choice by the way. My husband is good friends with Karin and Lindford (Over the Rhine). They are awesome people and amazing musicians and songwriters. If you have ever have the chance to see them live you need to check them out. They come o Seattle about once a year. Jessica you would totally hit it off with Karin. Also check out Innocence Mission great band, too.

Aubri and Byron's September wedding was filled with vintage flair and kick-ass style! They were married at the awesome Queen Ann Victorian Mansion and used fun feathers and deep colors to accent the antique feel of the venue. They chose a fun song by Zero 7, so turn up the volume! Angela and Jason are fun-filled and witty couple with plenty of style and posh. Their October wedding was modern, spacious and elegant. I'm super honored that their wedding was just featured on one of the best wedding blogs in Oregon, Portland Style Unveiled. I was super excited to see the stunning layout of images, and the great write up from Angela, the bride.

From the write up, she wrote this about her wedding photography experience with Jessica Hill Photography. (I honestly started tearing up at her beautiful words, which were elegantly written and extremely touching.)

"I visited Yelp and explored the websites of several local photographers. There was a photographic style I had in mind however I was struggling to articulate it. I kept coming across websites with obviously talented photographers, however non displayed photos with any edge. Images were flat and one-dimensional and I was looking for a photography artist. Someone who played with exposures and film types, color and lenses. Someone who took photos with a "Wow" factor. Modern, Stylish.

When I came across the website for Jessica Hill, I was very excited. This woman was clearly an artist. I scheduled an appointment and met up at her studio above the train station- my favorite Portland landmark. After meeting Jessica I was most impressed by her take-control confidence. We were on the same wave length, and she was able to articulate and show me examples of the look I was seeking. After looking at photographer websites I was curious as to why only some of them offered "engagement photos". I wasn't sure if I wanted them and I had never heard of anyone getting them, however they were a part of each of Jessica's photo packages. Her rationale was simple and made perfect sense- she always included them because it enabled her to learn how to best shoot the wedding couple before the big day and it's an opportunity to learn more about the type of shots the couple wants. Makes perfect sense.

When we received our wedding photos we were blown away. First of all, Jason and I are camera shy and don't believe we photograph well- yet she made us look fantastic. Secondly- the photos looked like they were plucked out of a magazine. Elegant, playful, artistic and just gorgeous. I've had no less than 20 people ask who my photographer was- and whether she'll travel to San Francisco. As they say- a picture says a 1000 words- just check out her work to see for yourself."
