Engagement

Lisa & Geoff
A Snowy Wilderness Enagement

Lisa and Geoff and I met up on a snowy January day deep into the Mt. Hood Wilderness for their snowy wilderness engagement session. Loved learning their love story about how an older neighbor in their condo introduced them at a mingle event for the building. SO very meet cute! We laughed while almost falling on our faces every few minutes (it was slippery!) and had a blast photographing in the snow. The day was chilly and crisp but not too cold and just right for a snowy evening in the woods. The pine trees were heavy with snow and made a wonderful photography backdrop to Lisa and Geoff’s love story. Absolutely loved the Pendelton blanket they brought to keep warm with along with the Argyle bubbles to pop in celebration! We hopped in the back of their truck so we could get some fun sitting pics and not get too freezing sitting in snow! Such a perfect Mt. Hood Oregon engagement session.  So happy for these two amazing people and their upcoming wedding this summer. Congrats Lisa & Geoff!

Jannylyn & Daniel
An Opal 28 Destination Wedding

Jennylyn and Daniel are celebrating their first year together as husband and wife! The fun and stylish pair are from LA, but decided on a chill Portland destination wedding. They married in the heart of NE Portland at Opal28’s courtyard venue. The small space really made the whole even feel so intimate and special. The decor was autumn elegance with Knot & Fern creating wildly beautiful arrangements of bright pinks, deep reds, and lime green. The ceremony was followed by dinner and dancing and dance did they ever! They brought the house down and partied well into the night. It was a night to remember! Congrats on one year J&D!!!

Evan & Aaron
Village Ballroom Wedding

Evan and Aaron are celebrating their one year anniversary this week! I deeply admire this couple for the kind and gentle love they share. They also live a very eco-conscious lifestyle and that was reflected throughout their thoughtful wedding day. Their venue, the Village Ballroom, was specifically chosen because of its focus on charity and green living, and their autumn themed decor was all sustainable harvest fruits and squash that the guests took home with them as favors! Both grooms sang a song to each other with their dads accompanying them on the guitar and piano respectively. Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! After vows, guests were entertained with vegan Mediterranean food from Nicolas and board games, one of the couple’s favorite pastimes. I’m so happy to have recently delivered the couple a beautiful, custom-designed vegan Heirloom Album with photographs from their special day. It was such a sweet way for them to relive their wedding a year later and I wish this kind and intelligent couple the happiest one year anniversary and many many more.

Elizabeth & Mark
A Columbia River Engagement (on a boat!)

Sunset on the river with the love of your life? Yes please! Elizabeth and Mark decided to celebrate their engagement with a trip to Government Island, a location on the Columbia River which you can only reach by boat. It was such a gift to photograph Elizabeth and Mark relaxed and in their element on the gorgeous Columbia River. To start off the engagement session, they cracked open White Claws (2020 beverage of the year!) and toasted to their future. Later in the evening the sunset was absolutely stunning making for some gorgeous images on the dunes of Government Island. This stylish (still can’t get over Elizabeth’s floral dress!) and fun-loving couple are getting married this October in Sunriver and I absolutely can’t wait to share the moments from their big day!

Anna & Travis
A Mountain View Orchard Wedding

Anna and Travis said their vows one year ago at the beautiful Mt. View Orchard in Hood River, Oregon wedding. Beautiful rows of apple trees and the silhouette of Mt. Hood made for a gorgeous location for a simple yet elegant wedding in the orchard, near Hood River, Oregon. It was the perfect backdrop for a day filled to the brim with excitement and oh so much love!  After photographing their snowy vintage-inspired engagement at Timberline Lodge, I knew it would be a thoughtful, casual and beautiful event. Anna stunned guests and Travis alike in her BHLDN gown. Her rustic bouquet and the florals were created by Travis’s mom, a florist in Napa. The wild flowers really added to the rustic location and I loved the mis-matched bridesmaids dresses. The ceremony followed with an amazing fresh meal from a Hood River local food taco truck, (yum!) plenty to cheers, and a flash hail storm!!! What happens when a hail-storm hits your outdoor wedding? You dance all night to the incredible beats of DJ Jimbo of course!  (Did someone say conga?) What a wedding! Many happy memories, Anna and Travis.

Hannah and Jacob
An Indigo and Bluehour Portland Wedding

Hanna and Jacob emanate goodness. They laugh a lot together, ask a lot of questions and truly make this world a better place. For real, he is a brain surgeon and she is a researcher for childhood developmental disorders. Needless to say after getting to know them better during their oh so fun urban engagement shoot I was beyond honored to photograph their classic and elegant wedding day. With a ceremony and reception at the award-winning Blue Hour restaurant the vibe was timeless class with a modern touch and I loved every detail! Spot-on coordination from Molli and her team at Soiree Wedding Planning, stunning blooms and beautiful Chuppah from Zest Flowers and a classic cake from Dream Cakes. This wedding was so pretty to photograph and filled with so much joy! Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your amazing wedding Hanna and Jacob!

Ellie and Matthieu
A Bridal Veil Falls Elopement

Je t’aimerai toujours. I love you forever. The sound of the waterfall in the background, surrounded with a huddle of their closest family and vowing to love each other forever in French, this is their story. Ellie and Matthieu have the kind of love that spans continents, from North America to Europe. They originally met in Paris, where Ellie was studying abroad and now reside in Portland. They adventured the world together and realized that they had something real. Matthieu proposed and the adventure of their lifetime continued. I had the pleasure of photographing Ellie’s brother’s beautiful wedding back in 2012 and that’s where I met both Ellie and Matthieu and their family. You could already see that they were perfect together, a gorgeous couple and oh-so in love, so I was beyond elated and honored to photograph their engagements and then their wedding ceremony elopement this April at the base of the majestic Bridal Veil Falls with a park picnic reception. Ellie wore a stunning Claire LaFaye dress and Brenna Burnett created the stunning bouquet and boutonnières. I especially loved that Ellie got ready in the woods, at the trailhead parking lot. (Yes folks- she’s that classy and laid back at the same time!) They will be celebrating with extended family and friends at their wedding reception this September.

Anna and Steve
A Lake Oswego Home Wedding

Anna and Steve’s day was joyous, spiritual and simply beautiful. After being neighbors in Sellwood for awhile, this couple connected for all the right reasons. Greeting a perfect day on Oswego Lake, Anna and Steve had an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception at a private family residence. With amazing planning from Encore Events, organic and stunning florals from Botanica, and incredible food from Classic Traditions Catering, the backyard was transformed into a magical garden party space with dining and dancing that lasted into the night beneath the new moon. So many congratulations to this kind and wonderful couple! Lake-Oswego-Wedding-001 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-002 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-003 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-004 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-005 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-006 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-007 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-008 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-009 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-014Lake-Oswego-Weddings--1Lake-Oswego-Wedding-010Lake-Oswego-Wedding-011Lake-Oswego-Wedding-013Lake-Oswego-Wedding-015 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-020 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-017 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-018 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-019 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-021 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-022 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-023Lake-Oswego-Wedding-024 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-025 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-028 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-030 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-031 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-027 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-032 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-033 Lake-Oswego-Wedding-034

Ceci and Charlie
A Redwood Deck and Meadow Wedding

Ceci and Charlie are both professional racquetball players and met in the racquetball community at a tournament. At the time, Ceci lived in Mexico with her family and Charlie lived next door to me. After about a year or so of long distance, Ceci moved in with Charlie and we became instant friends, and Ceci became my spanish tutor! Muchas Gracias Amiga! I loved receiving the happy text that they got engaged! This gorgeous, laid-back and adventure-seeking couple wed beneath a grove of Redwoods at the Hoyt Arboretum in Forest Park. Ceci wore a stunning Nicole Miller gown from Portland’s English Department, natural makeup and hair from Contour Makeup Art and a flower crown made by family friends. Charlie has Hawaiian ancestry, which they honored with fresh plumeria leis. Surrounded with wildflowers, their reception followed in the meadow with delicious food from Crave Catering, dancing, guitar playing, and lots of merriment. So happy for this amazing pair!
