An Elder Hall Wedding

Early in 2020 (pre-covid!) I had the honor of photographing Courtney and Lucas’ small and intimate Portland wedding ceremony at their favorite bar in NW Portland, the Pope House and, at Ned Ludd’s sister event space, Elder Hall It was a truly local celebration with so many nods to some classically Portland culture. Good whisky, great food and laughter abound, this was such a joyous event! Not afraid of the rain, we ventured to some iconic Portland landmarks, including the SE Waterfront and the Arlene Schnitzer Portland sign in downtown Portland for some fun pics! This was such a delightful day and happy one year Lucas and Courtney!

A NW Portland Engagement

Tater tots, billiards and beer? Yes please! Hannah and Jason are a fun-loving, creative and musical couple who met in NW Portland at Blue Moon over their love of tots, pool and craft beer. This incredible couple both share the love of music in their professions, Hannah a professional violinist and Jason, a long-time music blogger at chorus.fm. I love infusing a couple’s love story into their engagement photos; so we met at their original meeting location and shared tots and then explored the SE Portland waterfront for some moody sunset photos with the Portland skyline backdrop. I loved Hannah’s flowy gown, of which she has many considering her profession, which I think is a definite perk to her job! We had a total blast and I’m so looking forward to their wedding this month at the historic Sentinel hotel.

Portland Cathedral Park Engagements

Jillian and Greg are a rad couple who I had the pleasure of photographing recently at Cathedral Park. When emailing with Jillian about a location for the engagements, she said this about the place: “We’ve decided on Cathedral Park. Not only do we drive by it every time we come over to one of our favorite breweries, we think it is a great balance between the outdoors (of which we love) and great architecture.” I couldn’t have said it better and love that we finished the photo shoot at their favorite brewery, Portland Brewing Company, in NW Industrial, where we also took some fun pics. I had a blast with them and can’t wait for their downtown Portland wedding this September!

Forest Park Engagements

Allison and Jeremy are fun, beautiful and kind, and a perfect pair! They are high-school sweethearts and I am so excited for their late July wedding. This couple and their cute pup Buoy and I, along with my incredible assistant Lindsay, all met up in NW Portland for a photo adventure into Forest Park. It was a gorgeous day and we had a lot of fun. In case you’re wondering, Lindsay’s arm is the mystery arm in the post and she is great with dogs! You should check out her new Pet Photography blog! Thanks Allison, Jeremy, Lindsay and Buoy!

Coffee, graffiti and magnolia blossoms.. Ah Portland! Alice and Scott and I all met up recently, along with my awesome new second shooter, Elijah, for a fun engagement lifestyle shoot in NW Portland. Alice and Scott are a really adorable and stylish couple who are planning a July wedding at Bridal Veil Lakes, one of my favorite wedding venues! Suzanne and Joe are smart, stylish and sexy and I loved photographing their engagements recently. They both work in the fine-dining industry and we met up at Meriwether’s for some delish tapas and drinks. Meriwether’s is an amazing restaurant that has to have the best outdoor patio in Portland. I love their casual and fun personalities and their passion for good art, great food and unending love for each other. I’m so looking forward to documenting their garden party wedding in Albany in June next year! Hope you love the sneak peek S&J!
