McKenzie and Paul’s just celebrated one year of marriage and I’m so excited to finally share their absolutely jaw dropping wedding experience at The Sentinel Hotel in Portland Oregon. This historic portland wedding venue is incredibly elegant with a timeless style and architecture that the couple, along with the talents of both Danielle Caldwell Events and Blum Florals, transformed into a luxe garden of magic, complete with English inspired garden details, like hedges and topiaries. McKenzie, an absolutely stunning bride, wore a weddings dress from Portland’s A&bé bridal shop and her father’s first reaction to seeing his daughter all in white was a truly beautiful moment. The couple opted for a “first touch” rather than a first look, which was a powerful and unforgettable moment of union. Paul, a talented pianist, played a song he wrote for his future wife and they shared a silent moment of prayer together. The two walked down the aisle to a full string quartet and onto an impressive garden trellis of live ivy & roses. The reception, held in the Governor ballroom, was gorgeously designed to incorporate elements of nature into the evening. From full trees lit by candlelight, to twinkling stars projected onto the ceiling, it was truly breathtaking. The cake, made by the one and only Dream Cakes, was impressive 5 tier with acrylic dividers to highlight the elegance of the day. To close out their incredible day, McKenzie and Paul danced to the last song of the evening surrounded by their friends and family holding a sea of tealight candles that swayed with the perfect music provided by Event Team Entertainment. Congratulations on one year McKenzie & Paul! Your magical wedding truly represented what a magical couple you two are!
I am beyond honored to be Oregon Bride Magazine‘s Best Photographer in Portland for 2020! This is my third year winning (2013 and 2015) and I continue to feel so very humbled and appreciative. I want to thank each and every one of you for your votes and continued support and love. The wedding industry has been completely upended, but your support has allowed me to live out my passion and continue to capture amazing and meaningful moments for Oregon couples. A huge shout out to the other winners and contestants, it is an honor to know & work alongside so many of you! Thank you and Happiest Holidays!
Hannah and Jason are celebrating their one-year anniversary and looking back on their wedding has been such a blast! I’m not exaggerating when I say that Hannah and Jason’s elegant ceremony at Portland’s The Sentinel was one that I’ll remember forever. (I was first introduced to this rad couple over a decade ago at Jill & Nicks wedding at Timberline!) Hannah looked stunning in a BHLDN wedding dress and Jason in a classic tux from the Black Tux, which was complemented by deep blues & black for the groomsmen and burgundy velvet for the bridesmaids. SO chic! The lush florals from Sea of Roses took the elegance to the next level and I am still swooning over the fireplace decor from the library room where the ceremony took place. I love Hannah’s special connection to her Grandma and had asked that she walk her down the aisle, which was a beautiful moment of three generations. Every detail was perfectly thought out and executed by Elizabeth at Spruce Events NW and it felt like you had walked onto the set of a luxe James Bond film. After the ceremony the bride and groom led everyone out onto the dance floor for a night of hilarious laughter and celebration. Congratulations to this smart and stylish couple on one year together! Happy anniversary Hannah & Jason!
Remember weddings? (Insert cry face emoji here!!!) This one was unforgettable and I’m so honored that it was just featured on the Oregon Bride Magazine Blog!!! Kelsey and Tyler’s day was a classic and extremely elegant wedding! They said their vows under the beautiful vaulted ceilings of St. Patrick Catholic Church, followed with a celebratory reception at The Sentinel Hotel. with traditional & timeless white florals by Amanda Karam Floral Company and an absolutely gorgeous Vera Wang gown paired with nude Louboutin pumps and a long veil. I loved the grandeur Kelsey and Tyler brought to the decor while sprinkling in reminders of their alma mater, OSU, where their relationship blossomed. The first night of her freshman year at Oregon State, Kelsey met Tyler, but it wasn’t until a month before graduation that they started dating! Fast forward three years and Tyler proposed at one of their favorite spots on the Deschutes River in Sunriver, Oregon. The entire day was expertly planned by Bridal Bliss, even down to a ride in a oh-so rad classic car that belongs to Kelsey’s dad on their way to the reception. Congratulations to the both of them and many happy memories to come!
Vi and Alex are not only a stunning couple, but also kind, super laid back and hella cool. We had a blast getting to know each other during their downtown rooftop engagement session and their September wedding took place at the elegant Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Oregon. Their wedding was so full of color, light, joy and tradition and I had a blast photographing their remarkable day. Coordination by the always talented Bridal Bliss team with stunning florals by Bella Bloom and hair and makeup from Olivia Hawthorne. Dance party was insane with DJ Zimmie along with an equally insane wedding cake created by Dream Cakes along w/ killer party food with 1927 S’mores. I loved the beautiful Sri Lankan lamp lighting ceremony where the bride and groom and their families took turns lighting an oil lamp to signify the two families becoming one family. This was truly a wedding that I’ll never forget filled with bold colors, laughter, dancing and SO MUCH LOVE and you can see it in print now in the most recent Real Weddings issue of Oregon Bride Magazine.
Hearing my name being called at Oregon Bride Magazine’s big award night at the Porter Hotel this past June was honestly a shock. I knew I was nominated and that was quite an honor in and of itself, but to win… WOW! I almost fainted for a sec (for real you can watch the footage on my Instagram best of story!) Thanks to ALL of you amazing clients, vendors, family and friends who have supported me over the years! I’m constantly pushing myself to do more with my art and business and it feels nice to have all the hard work and dedication be awarded. Congrats to my awesome team of bossbabes over at A Lovely Day Photography for the top three nomination as well!!! Wahoooo!!!
It’s been such an incredible year and I’m so honored that Oregon Bride Magazine named me the Best Independant Photographer in Portland… again!!! I won back in 2013 and it feels so warm and fuzzy to win again. This is a two tiered voting process where the public votes first, and then vendors specific to the wedding industry vote later. From the rooftops I shout… “Thank You All!” I couldn’t have done it without your support and votes and you guys mean the world to me. As you know, I live, eat, breath and dream wedding photography and I feel extremely passionate about this incredible industry. It’s a true joy to be celebrated in this way. Much love and Happy Holidays!
A pic of my husband Evan and I right after the award ceremony!
Wow! What an honor to be selected as the “Best Independent Photographer” in Portland by Oregon Bride Magazine. The voting is done by the public, so THANK YOU so much for those who threw my name in the hat! There are so many talented photographers in Portland and I realize that to be called out as the “Best” one is a huge consideration! After being in business in Portland for 6 years, it feels great to have this recognition! It’s also so awesome to see Ina and Ben’s wedding featured in the “Local Weddings of Note” section. Pick up the latest issue and read all the goodness! Wahhhoooo!
Congrats to Tresa and Ted for having their real wedding in the newest issue of Oregon Bride. It’s the Best Of issue, and a great one at that. Their wedding really represented them and their love for nature. They honored the land and celebrated beneath a mountain, so great! I was stoked to see the stunning spread. To see more from their wedding, check out their blog post.
