Hannah & Jason
A Sentinel Wedding

Hannah and Jason are celebrating their one-year anniversary and looking back on their wedding has been such a blast! I’m not exaggerating when I say that Hannah and Jason’s elegant ceremony at Portland’s The Sentinel was one that I’ll remember forever. (I was first introduced to this rad couple over a decade ago at Jill & Nicks wedding at Timberline!) Hannah looked stunning in a BHLDN wedding dress and Jason in a classic tux from the Black Tux, which was complemented by deep blues & black for the groomsmen and burgundy velvet for the bridesmaids. SO chic! The lush florals from Sea of Roses took the elegance to the next level and I am still swooning over the fireplace decor from the library room where the ceremony took place. I love Hannah’s special connection to her Grandma and had asked that she walk her down the aisle, which was a beautiful moment of three generations. Every detail was perfectly thought out and executed by Elizabeth at Spruce Events NW and it felt like you had walked onto the set of a luxe James Bond film. After the ceremony the bride and groom led everyone out onto the dance floor for a night of hilarious laughter and celebration. Congratulations to this smart and stylish couple on one year together! Happy anniversary Hannah & Jason!

Kelsey & Geoff
A Leftbank Annex Wedding

This wedding between Kelsey and Geoff was absolutely stunning and every little detail thought out to make the day perfection. The bride and groom prepared for their big day in stunning rooms at Portland’s luxury hotel The Nines. During their first look, Kelsey and Geoff took a moment together to laugh and cry together in such a touching moment. After photos along at the Nines and the Portland waterfront, the ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral in NW. With gorgeous florals from Geranium Lake, the Leftbank Annex was turned into an elegant yet industrial venue perfect for dinner, toasts and dancing. The remainder of the night was an opulent blur of amazing dancing, laugher, and joy! The couple made their exit under a dazzling tunnel of sparklers. Happy anniversary Kelsey and Geoff and we wish you many many more!

Anna & Travis
A Mountain View Orchard Wedding

Anna and Travis said their vows one year ago at the beautiful Mt. View Orchard in Hood River, Oregon wedding. Beautiful rows of apple trees and the silhouette of Mt. Hood made for a gorgeous location for a simple yet elegant wedding in the orchard, near Hood River, Oregon. It was the perfect backdrop for a day filled to the brim with excitement and oh so much love!  After photographing their snowy vintage-inspired engagement at Timberline Lodge, I knew it would be a thoughtful, casual and beautiful event. Anna stunned guests and Travis alike in her BHLDN gown. Her rustic bouquet and the florals were created by Travis’s mom, a florist in Napa. The wild flowers really added to the rustic location and I loved the mis-matched bridesmaids dresses. The ceremony followed with an amazing fresh meal from a Hood River local food taco truck, (yum!) plenty to cheers, and a flash hail storm!!! What happens when a hail-storm hits your outdoor wedding? You dance all night to the incredible beats of DJ Jimbo of course!  (Did someone say conga?) What a wedding! Many happy memories, Anna and Travis.

Lei Lei & Michael
A Traditional Chinese Wedding

Lei Lei and Michael are celebrating their first year as a married couple and their wedding is one I love looking back on! It was a celebration steeped in beautiful tradition, rich color and delicious food! Before their Western marriage at the Portland Community Church, Lei Lei and Michael hosted a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with family and friends. Throughout the day, the event sported bursts of bright red symbolizing good fortune, joy, and happiness. During the ceremony Lei Lei wore an elegant gown from Charlotte’s Weddings and looked stunning. After the ceremony the large celebration was hosted at HK Cafe complete with lobster, shrimp and delicious cupcakes! The celebration continued into the night with games, speeches, and singing! Michael sang a song to Lei Lei and it was incredible! It was a magnificent night and one that no one will soon forget. Congratulations Lei Lei and Michael.

McKenzie & Paul
A Wilsonville, Oregon engagement

When McKenzie and Paul first met, they shook hands and felt it… You know that thing you feel when you instantly connect with someone? Well as soon as they told me their story I knew I wanted to focus on their hands and the connections they make. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting McKenzie and Paul and they feel like old friends, the ones you can go ages without seeing, but then as soon as you see each other you’re right back to where you were all those years ago and it feels like not a day has passed. They are wise, kind, talented, generous and not to mention total babes! They invited me to document their home for a day in their life while they cooked breakfast together in their beautiful Wilsonville home and drank coffee. I love how intimate and cozy at-home photos are, as the couple could just be themselves. Paul then played piano (*and oh my goodness he is talented as he was a professional piano player for years!) on his antique grand piano that was recently restored after a fire. We then took their Harley to the local park for some photos at dusk and wondered to an ancient oak tree. Paul picked flowers for McKenzie (unprompted!) and we had a blast running around in the fields making art and finding light. The dusk light was this gorgeous shade of pink and I love this engagement session and this couple. Needless to say I am oh-so excited and inspired for their elegant wedding this weekend at the historic Sentinel hotel!

Charlotte and Jack
A Black Butte Ranch Engagement

Charlotte and Jack are a darling and fun couple that met in college and settled down together in North Carolina. I met with Charlotte and Jack during their stay at Charlotte’s family cabin at the stunning Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon. Charlotte spent many childhood summers on the ranch and later brought Jack along and together they felt this magical place should be a part of their engagement story. Hoping to get some fun canoe photos out on the water with the mountain landscape, we were told no due to high winds. We persisted and managed to get some great photographs while safely tied to the dock! With Mt. Washington and the Three Sisters in the distance, Char and Jack laughed, danced, and enjoyed the gorgeous Oregon sunset at golden hour. We had a total blast and I’m so happy for them as they are tying the knot in NC this weekend!  Charlotte and Jack, I wish all the love and happiness and thank you for trusting me to capture such a beautiful chapter in your forever story.

Merrin and Jay
A Mt. Hood & Timberline Engagement

Merrin and Jay are a sweet outdoor loving Portland couple that recently got engaged and we went up to Timberline to celebrate with stunning photos. The dash of snow on the ground and the evergreen trees were the perfect winter backdrop for their Mt. Hood engagement photos. It was a cold, yet breathtakingly beautiful day on Mt. Hood that ended with a truly memorable sunset overlooking Mt. Jefferson & the Three Sisters; Wow.  After getting nice and cold, we headed to the Skyway bar in Zigzag to warm up by the fire; This is one of their favorite places to stop on the way to the mountain and I love incorporating personal connections into the engagement photography session. These two lovelies are getting married in the spring at The Evergreen and I am beyond excited to photograph their wedding day!

Margaret and Noah and Family
A Tualatin River Engagement

Margaret and Noah have the kind of love that moves mountains and makes you dance under the moon. Margaret is a friend, a fellow (amazing) photographer, and a talented writer bringing attention to things that need to be talked about like mental health, gender and marriage. Noah is an activist and conservationist who adds spark to any room with his wit and humor. I met up recently with Margaret and Noah and Margaret’s two incredible kiddos, Beck and Riley and we photographed at their charming home in the woods on the converge of the Tualatin and Willamette rivers. Needless to say this gorgeous couple and their family was a joy to document and spend time with. We skipped stones and danced under the purple moon and made magic. We also photographed some fun 70’s inspired couple’s glam boudoir pics that you can find over at my Peekaboo boudoir blog. Excited for this intelligent, artistic, kind-hearted couple and their at-home wedding this September.
