Planning

From a bride’s lens
Now a Mrs!

So it’s officially our one month anniversary as a married couple! We made it through the pre-planning, the rehearsal, the picnic, the wedding and the honeymoon and it feels good. It feels good to be a wife, to have a husband, to now officially be married and to be done with all the beautiful chaos that is wedding planning!

Our wedding was truly a dream, with picture perfect weather, incredible vendors, a stunning view of Mt. Hood, delicious food and drinks, awesome music and all of our closest family and friends in one place. Amazing. I think back and smile and want to do it all over again. (Can I be a guest too?!) Do you know how they say your wedding goes by so fast, it’s so true!

Did things go wrong… Oh yes! Like a table number mix-up that resulted in table nine having over 16 guests, a bus schedule misprint on the website, and upon waking up, noticing that my right eye had a bothered blood vessel due to stress and crying happy tears all weekend (thank god for Paula, my hairdresser who covered my eye with a classic vintage-inspired updo!) I was more nervous than I expected on the wedding day, but not in a bad way, more like a ton of energy, anticipation, anxiety and complete joy was bubbling all over and I definitely was happy to do some morning yoga. Having my ladies there, especially my sister, Lauren (who flew in from Thailand for the wedding) was reassuring and calming. However, seeing Evan was the best moment of the day for me, he grounded me, brought me back to the moment and reminded me that this entire day was for us and perfect in all of it’s imperfections.

Now it’s time to sit back, wait for the photos and video and drink our coffee out of our Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Adler mugs. (One of many very cool wedding gifts- thanks all!) Alas, the thank you’s still need to be done (yikes!) and our kitchen needs to be about three times its size to fit all of our new gadgets, pots and pans; we’re slowly starting the next big life step- buying a home. (but that’s a whole new blog!)

Thanks Jeff Newsom for the stunning art you created and Lindsay Hile for the fun party and detail pics to share.
