Lei Lei & Michael
A Traditional Chinese Wedding

Lei Lei and Michael are celebrating their first year as a married couple and their wedding is one I love looking back on! It was a celebration steeped in beautiful tradition, rich color and delicious food! Before their Western marriage at the Portland Community Church, Lei Lei and Michael hosted a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with family and friends. Throughout the day, the event sported bursts of bright red symbolizing good fortune, joy, and happiness. During the ceremony Lei Lei wore an elegant gown from Charlotte’s Weddings and looked stunning. After the ceremony the large celebration was hosted at HK Cafe complete with lobster, shrimp and delicious cupcakes! The celebration continued into the night with games, speeches, and singing! Michael sang a song to Lei Lei and it was incredible! It was a magnificent night and one that no one will soon forget. Congratulations Lei Lei and Michael.

Tog and Porter recently contacted me about this fun event they were hosting at Robert’s Salon of Portland. My first question was, “What’s Tog&Porter?” Ellie, the adorable and talented event designer, let me know that it’s an online personal shopping experience, unlike any other. This is how it works: you meet with your personal stylist over Skype, and they will learn what you like, dislike, colors that look good on you, your favorite features, measurements, etc and they will create a awesome box of clothes to ship to you at no charge. If you like the clothes, you keep them, if you don’t like them, or they don’t fit, you ship them back at no charge. Kind of awesome, right?! Check out all the info at the Tog&Porter website, and be sure to check out their video!

Tram and Souk are having a July wedding that I’m so excited to be a part of. Tram and Souk are lovely and we had a great time walking around SE Portland to capture some awesome photos. We collaborated about making the images have a double meaning. Instead of the normal park engagement photos, we really told the story of their proposal in a creative and fun photo documentary way using location and props to tell the story. (Who doesn’t like cupcake props!) Special thanks to the new and always yummy, Saint Cupcake Deluxe and to Le Pigeon, an incredible French inspired restaurant serving beautiful farm fresh food. Can’t wait for your wedding and hope you love the sneak peek T&S!

The Nines in downtown Portland is a couture boutique hotel with amazing architecture, poetic food and a friendly staff. Their Chinese New Year party was a rad event complete with great music, signature cocktails, incredible food and some of the best decor I’ve seen. A huge wishing tree was the central focus, along with lanterns and custom lighting, West Coast Event Productions pulled out all the stops when decorating for this cultural celebration. So happy I was there!

Thank you Libby and Kenneth for choosing me to document your rocking awesome day! Not only is this couple fun and amazing, so was the perfect
weather matched with a breathtaking view! The wedding ceremony and
reception were held at the The Viewpoint Inn
a historic boutique hotel in Corbett, Oregon. Their wedding colors were neutral golds and taupes with hints of black, which created
a classic vintage, timeless feel. The beautiful flowers were by A Floral Affair. Libby looked gorgeous in her Lea Ann Belter  gown, and Stuart Weitzman heels. Kenneth was looking sharp in a classic tux and all the guys wore fun Mexican wrestling socks from Sock It To Me! They played very cool music courtesy of The Djangophiles, whose gypsy jazz tunes were the perfect compliment to the atmosphere. All the guests
marveled at the beautiful sky and the elegant surroundings while having
a very memorable evening of celebration complete with fake mustaches all around! Congratulations Libby and Kenneth and I wish you
both a lifetime of happiness! Enjoy the sneak peek:)
Your comments are encouraged and welcome!

Taryn and Aaron are a wonderful couple
and have a great energy together! Their wedding took place on  August 28th at the New Heights Church and the Vancouver Water Resource Center.
Their colors were red and black with spashes of yellow and purple and they reflected the fun
elegance of the day. The best part of the day was hanging out on the grounds of the Water Resource Center for fun pics of the couple and the wedding party. The view, the fountain, the sky.. It was all perfect and
the couple shows it! Thank you so much Taryn and Aaron for inviting me
to document your first steps together as husband and wife! Hope you
enjoy the view!

Erica and I were honored to document Aubri and Byron’s wedding on August 21st at the amazing Queen Anne Victorian Mansion.
This remarkable Victorian home in North Portland is perfect for eclectic and elegant weddings! The home is filled with 17th and 18th century antiques.  Aubri and Byron’s wedding was incredible and matched the vintage-inspired feel of
the location. The details were immaculate and ranging from Aubri’s vintage pill box hat and veil to bouquets of feathers in the deep purples and greens of the day. The stunning bouquets were created by the talented Quinn of Quinn in the City. It was very vintage and so unique! Watch for the fun details and a story of the day on Wedding’s Portland Style in the near future! The ceremony was poetic and
intimate and the reception was lovely and filled with great toasts,
laughs and a lot of fun dancing. Thank you SO MUCH Aubri and Byron for
inviting me and Erica to celebrate your unique wedding with you and your wonderful family
and friends! Hope you enjoy the preview… Your comments and thoughts are appreciated:)
