Core Power is one of the top hot yoga studios in Portland and I have had the awesome opportunity to attend class here for over three years and photograph this incredible team of teachers! From the energetic flow classes to the Core restore classes, I really love this studio and this team. I photographed the crew on the Portland Waterfront for their social media platforms.
Jen and Vic and I met up in the Pearl and Downtown Portland in the Spring for their urban inspired engagement shoot. From their killer style, complete with a sequin gown and tux on a rooftop to some awesome industrial walls and the setting sun- this shoot was made. This couple is not only gorgeous, but just as kind-hearted. You can feel their love when you’re around them (they seriously glow!) and they light up a room, or a rooftop, with their fun personalities. I can’t wait to be documenting their epic wedding this weekend at the Portland Art Museum! 
Wow! This family makes me smile all the time. Not only did I have the pleasure of working with Dean, Kate and their beautiful son; Sam, but I also have the pleasure of being close friends with these fine people. Love their energy, laughter, amazing cooking and being on the same team as Kate when we play Heads Up. (For the Win!!!) This family is on another level and my husband, Evan, and I are so happy to have them as friends, neighbors and almost family. xo. So happy for you guys. 
Eli and Caroline are a stunning couple that loves nature and the Timbers, so we were able to incorporate a few of their favorite things into their engagement shoot. From Forest Park to the Jen-Weld field we had fun adventuring around Portland making memories!
Je t’aimerai toujours. I love you forever. The sound of the waterfall in the background, surrounded with a huddle of their closest family and vowing to love each other forever in French, this is their story. Ellie and Matthieu have the kind of love that spans continents, from North America to Europe. They originally met in Paris, where Ellie was studying abroad and now reside in Portland. They adventured the world together and realized that they had something real. Matthieu proposed and the adventure of their lifetime continued. I had the pleasure of photographing Ellie’s brother’s beautiful wedding back in 2012 and that’s where I met both Ellie and Matthieu and their family. You could already see that they were perfect together, a gorgeous couple and oh-so in love, so I was beyond elated and honored to photograph their engagements and then their wedding ceremony elopement this April at the base of the majestic Bridal Veil Falls with a park picnic reception. Ellie wore a stunning Claire LaFaye dress and Brenna Burnett created the stunning bouquet and boutonnières. I especially loved that Ellie got ready in the woods, at the trailhead parking lot. (Yes folks- she’s that classy and laid back at the same time!) They will be celebrating with extended family and friends at their wedding reception this September.
The way that Tim looks at Elizabeth is enough to make you smile and think to yourself… “Wow- that love is visible.” That pretty much sums up their entire wedding weekend. Filled with visable love, laughter to the point of tears and beautiful Pacific Northwest weather, their St. Patrick’s Day wedding weekend at the Old Church and Left Bank Annex couldn’t have been more perfect. And this is just a sneak peek of the epic-ness that took place. So honored and elated to have documented their weekend. I wish you both the best of love, life, and happiness!

I couldn’t stop smiling with Allison and Aaron as we tromped around Mt. Hood in the knee deep snow for their engagement session. They are college sweethearts and have that kind of familiarity that is truly a joy to be around! They were troopers during the shoot as we had an icey rain pour on us and we were all freezing and wet. You can see how soaked we got in the last few pics!
I’ve known Allison and Aaron for over 5 years now and I had the absolute pleasure of having Allison as my intern from 2011-2012 while she was attending college at the Art Institute of Portland. She’s a super talented photographer and graphic designer and now works full time at Columbia Sportswear in the design department. SO proud of her and her accomplishments! When they contacted me about their wine country wedding for this August, I couldn’t have been more happy to hear that she and Aaron are getting married- as they truly are the perfect couple. VERY excited for their upcoming wedding at Vista Hills Vineyard. Love you guys!
Landon contacted me recently for a surprise engagement shoot for Melissa as a Valentine’s Day gift. He told me the concept of both natural and urban settings in classic Portland locations, like the waterfront, the White Stag building and Mt. Tabor and I was IN! Melissa was surprised and delighted and I had a ton of fun with this stylish couple all over Portland. With Landon being a musician and Melissa being an artist, I was in my element while we created some artistic and non-traditional images to match their creative love. Meet Lindsay! Lindsay is a incredible woman, entrepreneur, photographer and author and I’ve had the pleasure of company as my studio manager at Jessica Hill Photography for four years now. We recently met up in a natural setting to get some great pics of her and her adorable labradoodle, Louie. He also happens to be our trusty studio mascot! She’ll be using these images for her pet photography website, Sit Stay and her author photo for an upcoming book. Because she has a lot to chose from, she can also use them in a multitude of other places, like her newsletter, Facebook and Linkedin.
A great headshot is super important to you and your small business. They humanize a business, build trust and add personality. For business use, a headshot should give the impression of an intelligent, warm individual that looks trustworthy, approachable and genuine. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I truly believe this. I think having a variety of images is important, both vertical and horizontal, black and white and color and both looking at the camera and away. Good eye contact with the viewer connects you with them and then they can picture themselves doing business with you! Incorporating your personality and hobbies is also key, as it makes you more relatable and likable.
