Anna and Travis said their vows one year ago at the beautiful Mt. View Orchard in Hood River, Oregon wedding. Beautiful rows of apple trees and the silhouette of Mt. Hood made for a gorgeous location for a simple yet elegant wedding in the orchard. It was the perfect backdrop for a day filled to the brim with excitement and oh so much love! After photographing their snowy vintage-inspired engagement at Timberline Lodge, I knew it would be a thoughtful, casual and beautiful event. Anna stunned guests and Travis alike in her BHLDN gown. Her rustic bouquet and the florals were created by Travis’s mom, a florist in Napa. The wild flowers really added to the rustic location and I loved the mis-matched bridesmaids dresses. The ceremony followed with an amazing fresh meal from a Hood River local food truck, plenty to cheers, and a flash hail storm!!! What happens when a hail-storm hits your outdoor wedding? You dance all night to the incredible beats of DJ Jimbo of course! (Did someone say conga?) What a wedding! Many happy memories, Anna and Travis.
Lei Lei and Michael are celebrating their first year as a married couple and their wedding is one I love looking back on! It was a celebration steeped in beautiful tradition, rich color and delicious food! Before their Western marriage at the Portland Community Church, Lei Lei and Michael hosted a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with family and friends. Throughout the day, the event sported bursts of bright red symbolizing good fortune, joy, and happiness. During the ceremony Lei Lei wore an elegant gown from Charlotte’s Weddings and looked stunning. After the ceremony the large celebration was hosted at HK Cafe complete with lobster, shrimp and delicious cupcakes! The celebration continued into the night with games, speeches, and singing! Michael sang a song to Lei Lei and it was incredible! It was a magnificent night and one that no one will soon forget. Congratulations Lei Lei and Michael.
Wildflowers, deep green forests, sprawling vineyards, and views of Mount Hood? Yes please! Sheila and Michael’s wedding at Gorge Crest Vineyard really had it all, but these two only had eyes for each other. Sheila was absolutely stunning in her vintage-inspired gown and her bouquet by Blum Floral, which perfectly complimented the couple’s elegant style. Thanks to coordination from the amazing Katy with Bridal Bliss, the day ran smoothly, from Sheila and Michael’s first look to their first steps as husband and wife. Guests enjoyed vibrant and delicious food from White Pepper and lawn games (gotta love giant Jenga!) Loved the personal details, including photos of the couple at each age corresponding to the table number. After the ceremony, the couple stole away for a little dance among the rows of vines and shared a quiet moment together to take it all in. Absolutely adored this relaxed yet elegant wedding in the mountains! Happy one year to this kind and wonderful couple!
Molly and Dan said “I do” 7,000 feet up in the air at Timberline Lodge’s Silcox Hut! It was a classic wedding with a down to earth yet elegant vibe. Silcox Hut is already a dazzling locale, but with the help of Wild Fern Florals, the space transformed into a woodland fantasy. Molly’s wore a whimsical & gorgeous dress by Watters and comfortable (and mountain friendly) champagne colored jellies. The greenery flowed from table to table during the reception symbolizing family togetherness and connection. It was a setting which reflected Molly and Dan’s love in a beautiful way, surrounded by their loved ones and plenty of laughs. The night went absolutely perfect thanks to Totem Weddings and Events. Highlights included a performance of the Irish jig from Molly’s sisters, adorable details like personalized s’mores party favors for the guests, a reminder of the night Dan proposed to Molly over s’mores in NYC. The couple decided to have their first look as Molly walked down the aisle. It was a much-anticipated moment and made all the more touching by Dan’s reaction upon seeing Molly. “Dan and I are both pretty traditional, and were insistent that we wanted to wait until this moment to see each other that day, instead of doing a first look. Nothing will beat the memory of seeing Danny’s smile as I walked down the aisle to meet him. My brother Mike walked me down the aisle, which was also really special to me after losing my dad. When I asked my husband what his most anticipated moment of the day was, he replied “’the kiss, of course!’” Congratulations on one incredible year together, Molly and Dan! Here’s to many more!
Scott and Caroline planned an elegant, fun and colorful Coopers Hall Urban Winery wedding, which is one of my very favorite spots in Portland. From the hip industrial architecture and plants adorning the space to incredible food, wine and staff, this place is really quite amazing! I loved Caroline and Scott’s kind quiet love and we had a blast getting to know each other better at their Rhododendron garden engagements. Their wedding started with getting ready pics at the iconic Hotel Eastlund and we stopped along the way to the venue for fun and creative photos. Loved loved love Caroline’s bridal style with her tea-length dress from House of Mooshki Bridal and Jimmy Choos. The very fun & colorful florals were from Here Comes the Bloom. Epic entertainment from John Ross Music. Here’s what Caroline had to say about her wedding vision: “I really looked forward to walking down the stairs of Coopers Hall and down the aisle with my father to the song “Sweet Caroline”. The song was a surprise to our guests, but they all enjoyed joining in the chorus! Our first dance was also a wonderful moment, accompanied by John Ross playing acoustic guitar. It was nice to enjoy the moment together, and we both were excited that all the formal parts were over, and we could dance the rest of the night away with all of our guests! We also loved taking pictures with Jessica all around downtown Portland. Having complete strangers congratulate us and enjoy the day with us is something we won’t forget. Her wonderful advice for other couples planning their big day: Choose the things that are important to you, and let everything else go. Otherwise you’ll get stuck in the spiral that is wedding planning, and lose sight of the fact that the act of getting married is the only thing that really matters that day.” HECK YES! Thank you Caroline and Scott and happy one year anniversary! Also- this wedding was just featured over on Boho Weddings, a very cool European planning blog!
“Our vision was for a super elegant and formal wedding with a reggae and hip hop sound track. Everyone told us those would clash but we were determined. Frank ocean for my walk down the aisle, Popcaan for our entrance to the reception and Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill, Sir, SZA, Nipsey Hussle and J Cole in between. It was romantic and elegant with a vibe full of soul and culture. Exactly what we wanted.” Patience and Egan’s wedding was elegant, chill and oh-so very fun! With a timeless and classy vibe that only the downtown Portland hotel, the Sentinel could provide, Patience wore a stunner of a dress from Ania Bridal and her gorgeous makeup and hair was by Olivia Hawthorne Makeup with detail-perfect coordination from the impeccable able Bridal Bliss family. Florals by the one and only Leah with Indigo Garden. As soon as Frank Ocean via Paradox Productions faded in as Patience walked in during the ceremony ; I was floored and knew that I was in for a new take on “formal”. Needless to say it was everything and more and I absolutely loved this couple, their style, their laughter and their sweet love and I am so very happy for these two on their one year anniversary. See their fun PDX engagements here.
I had the pleasure of first meeting Kristina and Scott at their Oregon coast engagement session and now am honored to have been a part of their majestic day at their uniqueSilcox Hut wedding. Built in 1939, Silcox Hut was originally used as a warming hut but has now transformed into the ultimate mountain bed and breakfast. Sitting atop Mt. Hood at a staggering 7,000 ft and approximately 1,000 ft above Timberline Lodge, we had to take either snowcats or 4-wheel ATV’s up to the quaint hut. Being that Kristina and Scott are an adventurous and nature-oriented couple & I couldn’t have imagined a more fitting venue for their intimate wedding. Kristina looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle makeup by the talented Olivia Hawthorne and hair by Pin It Pretty. I especially loved seeing Kristina’s son, Aiden, walk her up the stairs of the hut to the aisle. Surrounded by Silcox’s incredible wooden architecture, Kristina and Scott exchanged vows to one another in front of their family and close friends. I love that they incorporated a tree-planting ceremony of an evergreen, which they will later re-plant in their yard. At over a mile above the ground, we were above the clouds and were able to create some incredible sunset photos. Silcox is truly a magical place and I am so happy to have been entrusted with capturing the undeniable love Kristina and Scott share. Wishing many years of love and happiness to this kind & wonderful couple!
Kellen and Ty are the kind of people you meet and you feel like you’ve known for lifetimes. Their grace, style and heart are apparent right away and you immediately feel comfortable in their presence. They hosted their stunning winter wedding this past December in beautiful Bend and Sunriver Oregon. Central Oregon delivered for this sweet couple with crisp and clear bluebird days and cozy, snuggly nights. Right before the holidays, their weekend celebration included skiing Mt. Bachelor, hanging in hot tubs in Sunriver, and a downtown Bend rehearsal dinner at the legendary Deschutes Brewery. The night included a slideshow with lots of childhood and engagement photos and sweet toasts and laughs. We snuck out to the balcony and photographed some moody and romantic night photos, which I love and then all headed back to Sunriver to prep for their gorgeous wedding the following day. Stay tuned!!!
