A SE Portland Engagement

It was quite the adventure photographing sweet couple Lei Lei and Michael in SE Portland for their engagement. In true Pacific NW fashion, the weather took a slight turn and rained on our parade. Luckily we took cover beneath the bridge we moments before had been spending time on top of. Once the wet weather subsided, we headed down to the dock to capture some dusk photos. Lei Lei’s hair looked so beautiful in the wind as she and Michael laughed and played at the waterfront. They will be getting married this weekend! It was so lovely spending the afternoon with these two – even though we had a slight intermission!

A SE Portland Engagement

I met Caroline and Scott, a kind & quiet couple on a gorgeous afternoon in Portland for their engagement at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. Located in SE Portland, the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is a local gem for photographers with its variety of natural topography. It could not have been a more beautiful day with waterfalls and bursts of blooms in every color! I loved Caroline’s blue vintage-inspired dress that popped against the floral backdrop. I am so excited for their wedding this weekend at Cooper’s Hall! Thank you Caroline and Scott for entrusting me the honor to photograph you guys!

A SE Portland Evergreen Wedding

Mandy and Avery’s wedding at the Evergreen in Portland was beyond words marvelous! They jumped into the Willamette river during their engagement photos, so I had no doubts that their wedding would be equally as adventurous and amazing! Oh- and it was!!!!! The background for getting ready is at the swoon-worthy Hotel Eastlund where we also did their first look and some fun wedding party photos with pretty hair and makeup by Bri Ellis. I love large wedding parties that are up for a “Vanity Fair” style photo- Such a stylish and fun way to capture everyone- especially with the bride’s stunn-ing Monique Lhuillier and the ladies in their floor length rose gold gowns and the groom and his guys looking good in custom light grey suits! SO stylish! The ceremony was emotional and sweet and took place beneath a handmade copper arch. During dinner Mandy’s mom surprised the entire audience with a bagpiper in honor of their Scottish grandmother who recently passed. It was such a kind and unique gift! With the legendary Reggie Houston band starting the evening, a Pip’s donut truck right outside for late night snacks and great lighting by Greenlight Creative, this was truly a party to remember! I was lucky to work with lots of crazy talented vendors, including on point coordinating by Leann with Ginger and You Events, and catering by White Pepper. Not only delicious, but also oh so beautiful! And the flowers… WOW the event space was literally dripping in flowers and ivy, and I loved the organic and natural quality that Jodi at Stemm floral created! A Japanese Garden Engagement

These two!!!! Ande and Mike are full of life, love and so much spirit! I had the absolute honor of photographing at the Portland Japanese Garden, with permission of course. I was overwhelmed in beauty by the trees, koi fish streams and waterfalls and had this crazy idea for the koi fish to be circling their heads. Ande and Mike laid on the dock and waited patiently for the koi fish to line up perfectly and it was hilarious! We stopped foot traffic and I was talking to the koi fish to align. For sunset we hung out on the SE Waterfront and had fun dancing with the fading sun and calm waves. Ande and Mike- You guys are so awesome and I’m so beyond elated to work with you at your Sentinel wedding this weekend with Bridal Bliss! It’s going to be MAJESTIC!

A Nines Hotel and Downtown Portland Engagement

Vi and Alex are the kind of people that feel like old friends right when you meet them. From the Departure rooftop at the Nines in downtown Portland to the SE industrial docks, they made Portland shine a little brighter and look a little hotter. Literally, it was the hottest day of the summer and these two still smiled, laughed and looked incredible! I’m so elated to be photographing their wedding this weekend at the elegant Oregon Golf Club!

A SE Portland Engagement

For Lucy and Paul’s engagement, we decided to do a beautiful mix of Portland nature and urban scenery. I met up with them at Mt. Tabor park to capture their sweet love among the tall trees and greenery. We then headed across Portland’s newest pedestrian-only bridge, Tillikum Crossing. We ended capturing the couple on the Southeast waterfront at sunset. These two kind hearted and laid back people met and live in lucky Las Vegas and Lucy grew up in Portland which brought them to plan their wedding here! I can’t wait for their wedding this weekend at the stunning Youngberg Hill Winery!

Resendez Family

I met with the lovely Resendez family in Laurelhurst Park in SE Portland. They are a stylish and kind-hearted family. I loved playing in the leaves and climbing trees with this fun and cute family. Their little baby boy, Abdi, is a chamer and has a ton of creative and friendly energy. He said hello to everone who passed, how cute is that! Their dog Margot is a sweetie. Their grandma also came and got in a quick photo as well!

A SE Portland Engagement Session

Monica and Ian and I met up last week for their fun quintenessential Portland engagements around SE Portland. Coffee + Park + Beer + Love = Fun. Monica and Ian are getting married this Sunday and had just flown in from their hometown of London, England for the pics. The talented Kirstie Wight created the makeup look and we stopped for coffee at Crema, the couple’s favorite coffee shop and then had a beer at a fun English-inspired pub, the Horse Brass. Can’t wait for this weekend to document this couple’s wedding!
