Kristin & Jay
A Cathedral Park Engagement

This stunning Cathedral Park engagement session with Kristin and Jay was so much fun and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple or a more gorgeous evening. Kristin and Jay first set eyes on each other at a Seahawks game in Seattle. As fate would have it, they were brought together again in Portland several years later and things just clicked! We were joined by their dog, Russell (as in Russell Wilson! Go Seahawks!) and we spent a lovely evening wandering the beach beneath St. John’s Bridge, capturing stunning sunset photos along the river, and laughing over old memories the two shared. They’re getting married next Spring at Abbey Road Farm in Carlton, Oregon and I can’t wait!

Alison and Nate
Portland Street Art Engagement

Nate and Alison and I met up back in the fall and had an engagement photography adventure of North Portland from the St. John’s Bridge to the incredible murals of Alberta Street to a random office lobby to final drinks and fire cuddles at Radio Room, one of the couple’s favorite date spots on Alberta. Nate and Alison brought the fun and color to this shoot and saved our rainy day with their bright love! Loved their fun animal hoodies, which represented their spirit animals, Nate’s is a grey wolf and Alison’s a tie-dye bear respectively. Hahah!!!  Love this kind couple and their free-spirited and joyful love. SO looking forward to photographing their July wedding!

Jenna and Greg
A Sauvie Island Engagement Session

It was a gorgeous summer’s day as I drove to Jenna and Greg’s family home on Sauvie Island in undeniably great light that only Sauvie Island gets. Jenna and Greg are just as kind and beautiful in person as they look and I literally had moments of the movie, The Notebook in my head as I was photographing this wonderful couple. Jenna and Greg met on the first day of medical school orientation and knew they had met someone special. They truly are soulmates and you can see it in the way they look at each other, interact and laugh. What Jenna says about Greg: “What made me fall in love with Greg first was his true happiness. It is the type of happiness that makes it worth getting up in the morning, no matter how hard the day looks. It is the type of happiness that warms you like a blanket on a cold day.”  And Greg of Jenna: “I knew early on that Jenna was everything I could have ever hoped for in this world, the one girl I have been looking for all my life. And even after all this time and all the adventures we faced, I have only come to love Jenna more and more each day, growing not just as an individual, but as a couple of goobers who love each other more than we do ourselves.” WOW! What beautiful words and what a beautiful love! Beyond honored to be photographing their Portland wedding this summer!

Megan and Brian
A Cathedral Park Engagement

Megan and Brian and I met up beneath the St. John’s bridge in Cathedral park this autumn for their engagement shoot. This couple loves adventure and their adorable rescue pups, both hounds, and I was in puppy hound heaven.  It was a pretty cold and blustery day and they both just went for it- sans coats and next to the water no less! Megan and Brian have that unspoken love that you can feel from across the room (or a park) with their glances and their laughter. I love the architecture of the Saint John’s Bridge and I love exploring new parts of this masterpiece with each and every shoot I do there. So looking forward to their wedding this September at Youngberg Hill Vineyards!st-Johns-engagements-1-2st-Johns-engagements-1-3st-Johns-engagements-1-6 st-Johns-engagements-1-1 st-Johns-engagements-1-13 st-Johns-engagements-1-4st-Johns-engagements-1-7 st-Johns-engagements-1-5st-Johns-engagements-1-9 st-Johns-engagements-1-10 st-Johns-engagements-1-8 st-Johns-engagements-1-11 st-Johns-engagements-1-12

Dahna and Neil
A St. Johns Bridge Engagement

Dahna,  Neil and I, and their awesome pup Penelope, met up at Cathedral Park; beneath the St. John’s bridge recently. We had a blast finding sun soaked trees and a cool random and huge pile of vinyl just sitting on a picnic table. The talented Kirstie Wight did Dahna’s pretty makeup. This loving and kind couple are down to earth, really fun and absolutely adorably in love. I can’t wait for their wedding this August at Bridal Veil Lakes!

Jillian and Greg
Portland Cathedral Park Engagements

#eyelashkiss

Jillian and Greg are a rad couple who I had the pleasure of photographing recently at Cathedral Park. When emailing with Jillian about a location for the engagements, she said this about the place: “We’ve decided on Cathedral Park. Not only do we drive by it every time we come over to one of our favorite breweries, we think it is a great balance between the outdoors (of which we love) and great architecture.” I couldn’t have said it better and love that we finished the photo shoot at their favorite brewery, Portland Brewing Company, in NW Industrial, where we also took some fun pics. I had a blast with them and can’t wait for their downtown Portland wedding this September!

Cara and Steven
A Cathedral Park and Waterfront Engagement

Cara and Steven share laughs, love and kindness and live in the darling St. John’s neighborhood. We started our engagement session at Cathedral Park, at the base of the St. John’s bridge and ended up at the waterfront with the stunning cherry blossoms. We had a blast in some of Portland’s not to be missed spots, and I can’t wait for their wedding next month at Hotel Deluxe!

When I first met Callie and Andy, I was immediately in love with their style and energy. We both happened to be going to the same show later that evening at the Doug Fir 🙂 (Blonde Redhead was the show, for those curious:) We all met up on Mississippi ave, where they live and where my studio is located, so it’s always fun having that connection with the place. Love Cathedral Park and can’t wait to work with this lovely, fun, hip and kind couple in 2012!

Michelle and Dave are an awesome couple that I’m so honored to have met! We recently photographed their engagements at Cathedral Park in St. John’s. We snuck out on the bridge for some incredible views of Gothic towers. Needless to say that I’m super excited about shooting their August wedding at David Hill Vineyards 🙂 Thanks so much M&D and hope you love the blog preview! Your comments are encouraged!
